The Orchard’s Sync Licensing team has some exciting TV placements to share with you this week. From old school tracks on comedy roasts to a music on the most talked about new show of the season, we hope you’ll enjoy watching these as much as we do.
This Sunday night, catch rapper Oddisee‘s “On The Table” featured on the hit HBO series, Ballers [Mello Music Group]. Created by Stephen Levinson (Entourage, Boardwalk Empire), Ballers follows the life of a former NFL star played by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson who is looking to become a financial advisor for young up-and-comers. His role develops into much more than just a financial advisor when he helps his clients weather many storms that come with being a “Baller…”
If you’ve always wanted to see Rob Lowe‘s ego get torn to shreds or if you really dislike Ann Coulter, check out Comedy Central’s Roast and hear Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz’ “Get Low” [TVT Records]. Many other celebrities assembled to completely take down the pretty boy including David Spade, Peyton Manning, Jeff Ross, Jewel and a few others.
Last but not least, if you haven’t heard of the sci-fi Netflix series, Stranger Things, then you’ve probably been living under a rock. I highly recommend grabbing some popcorn and tuning in if you haven’t watched it yet. You’ll hear “Melt With You” by Modern English [TVT Records] as well as other fantastic tracks in this incredible series — some by half of the band S U R V I V E, who wrote the soundtrack. It’s kind of hard to describe the show, so I’ll just tell you that it’s very strange and it’s appropriately filled with many many things that are indeed strange.
