Gala ADISQ 2021 Winners Announced

Gala ADISQ 2021 Winners Announced

This year’s Gala de l’ADISQ awarded sixty Félix trophies to talented artists, producers, and professionals in the Quebec-based music industry. For the 16th year, the event was hosted by Louis-José Houde, who welcomed the over 1,300 attendees present. Many The Orchard-distributed artists took the stage, such as Charlotte Cardin who performed her soul-baring song “Anyone Who Loves Me,” and Pierre Lapointe, who commemorated the late music mogul, Michel Robidoux. Each year, the Gala de l’ADISQ nominees and winners are determined through a democratic process by the Association du disque de l’industrie du spectacle québécois (ADISQ). Congratulations to The Orchard artists who brought home a total of 16 Felix Awards!

French-Canadian singer-songwriter Roxane Bruneau took home four Felix Awards, including Female Artist of the Year and Album of the year (pop) for her newest work, Acrophobie. Roxane Bruneau has been taking the Quebec music industry by storm with her French-language songs that are filled with raw lyrical metaphors and appealing melodies. In 2019, the fast-rising artist’s first album, Dysphorie, went gold. Her second 2020 album, Acrophobie, earned a spot in the Top 10 on the Billboard Canadian Albums Chart, further confirming her status as one of Quebec’s most popular artists.

At this year’s Gala de l’ADISQ, Bruneau was awarded Song of the Year for “À ma manière,” which achieved #1 on the French BDS Top 100 for 18 weeks in 2021, and over 15 million views on YouTube. When receiving the award, Bureau announced, “I was really afraid of being the flavor of the month and you prove it to me tonight that I am not.” A young, independent non-conformist, with “endless dreams,” Bruneau is likely to keep making waves in the pop world.
