It’s no surprise to anyone that Latin music has been taking over headphones and speakers worldwide. According to the 2018 RIAA report, streaming represented 91% of the Latin music market. It’s been incredible witnessing the growth and love for a genre that isn’t putting the brakes on anytime soon.
The Billboard Latin Music Awards, taking place on April 25, 2019 and streaming live on Telemundo, announced their finalists list today, with winners to be announced at the conclusion of Billboard Latin Music Week in Las Vegas. The Billboard Latin Music Awards honor some of the most popular in Latin music and are determined by sales, streaming, radio airplay, and social data. The Orchard is proud to work with such incredible talent across the board, and we congratulate all our artists, labels, and partners who have been nominated. In total, The Orchard’s artists, labels, and partners accrued over 50 nominations.
Ozuna leads with 23 nominations in 15 categories, breaking the Billboard record. He’s been nominated for Artist of the Year, side by side with 12-time finalist Bad Bunny and the infectious Daddy Yankee. Natti Natasha is up for Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, including New Artist of the Year, alongside Anuel AA.
We also wanted to give a special shout out to the labels and partners we work with who have been nominated for their work: El Cartel Records, Dimelo Vi, Flow La Movie, Glad Empire, La Industria, Rimas, and Top Stop. Finally, The Orchard was nominated for Tropical Albums Label of the Year and Tropical Albums Imprint of the Year.
