The 2018 iHeartRadio Music Award nominees have arrived, adding another reason to celebrate to an already fruitful awards season. Seven of The Orchard’s artists are in the running, earning nine total nominations. As always, the iHeartRadio Music Awards are decided by you, the people! You can vote here, winners are to be announced live on Sunday, March 11th. Let’s take a look at a few of the ever-talented, all-independent acts on the ballot from The Orchard.
You may remember this year’s biggest breakthrough rock band, Nothing More, from our Grammy nominations article. If you missed that one, let me fill you in. These guys are nominated for every single rock category The Academy has to offer. If that wasn’t impressive enough, the band is now up for Rock Song of the Year at the iHearts with “Go To War.” A cut from their 2017 record The Stories We Tell Ourselves, “Go To War” is a badass ballad through and through. Check it out below and listen to the rest of the record here via Better Noise Records.
Hard rock veterans Papa Roach are also in the running for Rock Song of the Year, as well as Rock Artist of the Year. The band’s song nomination belongs to Crooked Teeth hit “Help,” a head-banging confessional with an ear worm of a chorus. Watch the video for “Help” below and if you haven’t heard enough, listen to Crooked Teeth here via Eleven Seven Music.
Fresh to the latin spotlight, reggaeton singer Ozuna is up for Best New Latin Artist after a huge 2017. The inspired Puerto Rican songwriter wrapped the year with a single featuring the one and only Cardi B. With that kind of bow on an already stellar year of singles, including Se Preparó (see below), the sky is the limit for 2018.
