First off, welcome to The Orchard’s brand new live series, The Orchard Presents. Every month or so, we’ll bring you an intimate performance by a wonderful artist from The Orchard family, shot right here at our NYC headquarters. Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel to stay tuned. To kick things off we invited singer/songwriter, environmentalist and free surfer Ziggy Alberts.
Ziggy Alberts first picked up a guitar in 2011, and it took only a few years for him to grow a fanbase in his homeland of Australia through meaningful performances and a worthy cause. It wasn’t long before that word got out about the musician’s stellar vocal work, adventurous songwriting and environmental motives.
Fast forward to 2018 and we get Ziggy’s third full length album Laps Around The Sun, a collection of songs recorded in a non-denominational chapel near his hometown and released on his own label Commonfolk Records. Ziggy stopped by The Orchard HQ to play us a few tracks from the record.
