Peruvian music encompasses a wide range of genres and styles, from traditional Andean music, to coastal Afro-Peruvian rhythms. Modern Peruvian music has also embraced global genres like rock, pop, and electronic music, with artists often blending these styles with traditional elements to create a unique sound.
In our ongoing series 5 Artists You Should Know, we introduce local artists from regions all over the world. We’re very excited to share these five rising artists in Peru that showcase the country’s diversity and global growth: Greccia, Adrián Bello, We The Lion, Corazón Serrano, and Tourista.
Greccia
Greccia, a singer-songwriter from Lima, is making waves with her raw authenticity and emotional depth. As a standout voice among Peru’s new generation of female artists, she blends Dream pop, urban alternative, and R&B into a captivating sound. Her debut album, devut, released in August 2024, marks the start of her promising career. Greccia’s talent has already caught major attention, being named Spotify’s Radar Andes Artist of the Year and featured as an EQUAL Andes Highlight. Adrián Bello
Adrián Bello has made a massive mark in Latin America with hit tracks like “Volver Atrás”, “Explosión” with Ximena Sariñana, and “Escondidos” with Jósean Log, amassing millions of streams. He was Spotify’s first Andean Radar Artist representing the LGBTQ+ community and his music has been featured in popular Netflix films.
After releasing his second album, Bailemos en La Sala in 2022, he sold out multiple concerts in Lima and toured throughout Mexico. This year, Adrián has dropped his latest album, MULTICOLOR, featuring popular singles like “Otros Ritmos” and “Las Cosas Simples”.

We The Lion
We The Lion is a Peruvian indie pop-folk band led by childhood friends, Alonso Briceño and Paul Schabauer. Known for their energetic live shows, they’ve performed over 500 times across Peru, the USA, Spain, Mexico, and Chile, with festival appearances at SXSW, Cruïlla, and Cosquín Rock. Their 2017 debut album, Violet, featured the viral hit “Found Love,” while their follow-up, Kismet, served as a cinematic prequel. In 2023, they released their third album, TTT, and plan to drop their fourth, Songs 4 BBQs, by the end of 2024. With over 50 million streams, the band continues to connect deeply with their growing international fanbase.

Corazón Serrano
Corazón Serrano is a prominent musical group founded on February 2, 1995, by Lorenzo Guerrero Neira as a tribute to their homeland of Peru. Initially performers of huayno music, Lorenzo, and his brother Edwin, pioneered cumbia sanjuanera by blending Ecuadorian sanjuanitos with northern cumbia. Today, the group features seven female singers and is directed by Edwin. Known for their vibrant sound that fuses cumbia with pop elements, Corazón Serrano has become one of Peru’s most recognized music groups – notably being the first Peruvian artist to achieve 2 billion views on YouTube.

Tourista
Tourista is a Lima-based indie pop trio consisting of Rui Pereira, Sandro Labenita, and Genko. Their eclectic sound merges Indie Rock, contemporary R&B, Synth Pop, and Latin Trap, giving them significant attention in Peru’s indie and mainstream scenes. Tourista has headlined major festivals in Peru and toured internationally in countries like Mexico, Colombia, Spain, the United States, Argentina, and Chile. Their versatility has allowed them to open for renowned artists such as Bad Bunny, The Killers, and Ed Sheeran. In August 2024, they released their latest studio album, La F*ckin’ Terapia.
