Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizárraga, also known as Banda MS, took home both Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year, Duo or Group and Regional Mexican Artist of the Year, Duo or Group at this year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards. While Banda MS is household name in the Regional Mexican musical genre, this past May the group tapped West Coast Hip-Hop legend Snoop Dogg for their single “Qué Maldición.” The crossover track earned the unlikely pairing the number 4 spot on the Billboard Latin Music Songs charts.
Mexican group Los Ángeles Azules claimed this year’s category of Regional Mexican Song of the Year for their song “Nunca Es Suficiente” (OCESA Seitrack). The Regional Mexican act first formed in the 1980s and quickly became a chart-topping act.
